…allowing the Word of God RENEW YOUR MIND
The message was intended to help bring about a SHIFT in our heart, mind and life as a whole creating a change from within, which ultimately shines out. The message helped us understand the importance of being as mindful of our thoughts as we are conscious of our actions. The fact that no one can glean our thoughts does not erase our duty as children of God to ensure that we replace bad thoughts with good ones. That is what the Bible calls renewing the mind. After we have received the gift of salvation, the next most important step is the renewal of our mind if we hope to live a victorious life.
Weigh every thought and benchmark with the scripture and then choose your thoughts accordingly.
So are you still having doubtful thoughts, do you worry, are you anxious or do you harbor evil, hateful or lustful thoughts? Question you should ask when such thoughts come is- Do these thoughts tally with the thoughts recommended in Philippians 4:8? Are they true? are they noble? are they just? are they pure? are they lovely? are they of good report ? Are they virtuous and are they praiseworthy?
These are the kind of thoughts we are to entertain in our minds and meditate upon .
If you have struggles with your thought life, the weapon to fight with has already been provided for you in 2 Corinthians 10:5: Casting down imaginations and every high thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
Cast down every such thought NOW. The Lord will back you up, remember YOU HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST (1 Corinthians 2:16)
